Whirling Pool of Pain

She stands
Alone, Yet...
Never Alone
On the brink
Over the edge
Of the Whirling
Pool of Pain

Ready
To let go
Submerge
Subside
Within it
Close out
Completely

And yet
He haunts her head
Every moment
Within her
By her side
His texted and spoken words
Heaving heavy

Even as she drowns
In disgust
At letting Herself down
Hot molten lava
Bubbling
Destroying
Deriding depravity

As She simmers
Alone
Alone
Alone
Over the
Whirling pool
Of pain
